I have met my share of "fair weather sailors", but this guy is definitely not in that category. My parents' local beach is gently sloping and is normally calm, but the on-shore winds sometimes kick up quite a spray. Not my idea of a fun sport, but it takes all sorts, and it does make for some dynamic pictures...
