A striking moth found in Mexico and the U.S. As with most moths, easy to photograph as they are relatively inactive during the day. Fairly large and heavy, so requires a sturdy perch. This is a female, identifiable by its antennae which are fairly small and plain compared to the feathered antannae of the male.
This specimen was one of several that were sent to me as chrysalises by a butterfly breeder friend in the USA.
