Taken on a visit to Salt Lake City in 1982. I loved the lighting and the colours, but I wanted to show more than just the bare architecture. On the other hand I did not want to include people who would then become the focus of attention. Instead I used a slow shutter speed to blur this passer-by and add a subtle touch of mystery.
A bit too subtle! Despite the title being read out, a camera club competition judge failed to see the figure at all and commented only that "the architecture is nice, but it needs something more .... 4/10." Ho hum.
I still like it.
